Fire destroys a home west of Strathroy

No injuries but extensive damage to a home in the village of Cairngorm.

A home was destroyed in a small community west of Strathroy on Tuesday.

Emergency responders were called to Dodge Drive in the village of Cairngorm at around 11:15 a.m.

Officials with the Adelaide Metcalfe Fire Department say the fire had moved into the roof structure by the time they arrived.

One person inside made it out safely and two cats were rescued from the home.

Fire crews were able to get the fire knocked down quickly, but extensive damage had already been done.
