ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks (AMTB) has announced it is expanding to Ingersoll. Construction has begun, building a new 154,000 square foot blanking facility in the town, bringing sustainable manufacturing practices and cutting-edge blanking technology to the facility. “The construction of this facility marks a significant milestone for AMTB and the Town of Ingersoll,” said Rob Whitmore, executive vice president of new blanking. “Our site search yielded 41 different sites to consider, and Ingersoll came out on top with a central location, access to skilled employees, competitive cot, and their ability to meet our accelerated schedule. Hiring is underway in preparation for our launch next year.” AMTB is recognised around the world for its laser welding and ablation technologies expertise. “The arrival of AMTB marks an exciting new chapter for Ingersoll,” said Curtis Tighe, director of economic development and tourism for Ingersoll. “We’re delighted to have worked closely with their team to bring this project to life. This 154,000 square foot facility represents more than just industrial development. Installation and commissioning will continue through mid-2026 and a soft opening will take place in September 2026. The grand opening will happen in December 2026.
