An 83-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash involving a water tanker in Elgin County Friday morning. According to a news release, at 10:56 a.m. on Friday, OPP, Central Elgin Fire and Elgin EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a water tanker truck and sedan at the intersection of Sunset Road and Roberts Line. Police say the 83-year-old driver of the sedan was taken to local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 48-year-old driver of the water tanker truck was uninjured. OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team is assisting with the investigation. The surrounding roads were closed for several hours while police investigated. Police say updates will be provided when available.
