80-year-old dead following drowning in Port Stanley

An 80-year-old has died after a drowning at Port Stanley beach.

On Friday afternoon, Elgin emergency services were called to the beach for a medical emergency.

Elgin OPP said the person was found unresponsive in the water by another beach goer. They were brought back to shore and CPR was started.

The person was taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
