Two hundred trees were planted in London’s Soho neighbourhood over the weekend to mark the city’s 200th anniversary. The bicentennial tree planting was held along a new path between Wellington and Maitland streets, recognizing London distinction as the forest city. London mayor Josh Morgan said the bicentennial is an opportunity to reflect on the city’s history, but also the city’s future. “When I think about the soho neighborhood, you know, on the southern edge of downtown in our city and how it has transformed over the last number of years, you know, this is really about the future of our city,” said Morgan.
