OTTAWA - A public warning about possibly contaminated cheese issued on Sept. 10 has been expanded to include an additional product, Great Canadian brand Shredded Cheddar Cheese.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Ivanhoe Cheese are warning the public not to consume various cheese products described below because these products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The following products are affected by this alert.

  • Great Canadian brand Shredded Cheddar Cheese, 200g, code 3070, UPC 0 68642 00200 4
  • Great Canadian brand Shredded Marble Cheese, 400g, code 3070, UPC 0 68642 00211 0
  • Great Canadian brand Shredded Marble Cheese, 200g, code 3070, UPC 0 68642 00201 1
  • Ivanhoe brand Marble Cheese, 2.5 kg, code 3070

The code 3070 may appear on a sticker or embossed on the package.

These products have been distributed in Ontario.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
