Fun and Fit Family Circuit-use ours or create your own!

Active Gaming Family Challenge - at home or on location...see XBOX website for participating sites

Play Centres - for the younger family set...but parents...get in there!

Board games...with a twist - sure "twister" gets you moving, but you can add a physical challenge to any board game - have a fun and fit activity deck with different activities when you land on a certain spot

Community Centre Programs - many are also running special programs for this day or just head in for a swim or family fun in the gym

Make a healthy family meal! You know those healthy recipes you've been "meaning" to try out but don't typically have the time? Today is a great day to get the whole family involved - enjoy a healthy stir fry, a pizza made from scratch or a home made hot chocolate!

Also...check your community website for program and activities. Many towns and cities are running family events and programs to celebrate both indoors and out!

Keys to enjoying your time:

Layer for laughter! It's SO much easier to brave the elements when you're properly protected. Sounds obvious, but we often dress our kids well, but not ourselves...so then it's US that want to go in! Dress for it so you can enjoy it!

2. Make a game plan - Have all the equipment and clothing you need so it doesn't end up being a good idea that never was! Also, let everyone know the general time line as it'll help everyone to dress properly and perhaps coerce those not so quick to jump on board! You know they'll have fun once they start and then time won't be such an issue.

3. Reward your efforts - with a healthy snack, a family made dinner...one of those healthy recipes you've been "meaning" to try out when you had the time
