A 36-year-old Guelph man is facing a robbery charge after police say he pushed a woman who confronted him inside her car in downtown Guelph. Police say the incident happened around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday on Carden Street, where the woman found a man sitting inside her parked vehicle. When she confronted him, the man allegedly pushed her and ran off with a bag containing some of her belongings. The woman and the man did not know each other, according to police. Witnesses followed the man and recovered the bag before alerting police to his whereabouts. Officers arrested him a short time later. The 36-year-old has been charged with robbery and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 12.
