Guelph reaches tentative contract agreement with city workers and library employees

After 15 days at the bargaining table, the City of Guelph has reached a tentative agreement with more than 800 unionized workers.

In a news release on Monday, the city announced it had come to terms with three unions on a new contract.

The unions involved, CUPE 241, CUPE 973 and CUPE 1946, represent 700 employees working in operational roles within city departments and 115 staff members at the Guelph Public Library.

The new agreement, once ratified by the union, will cover a three-year period ending on Jan. 31, 2028.

If union members vote in favour of accepting the deal, city council will formally ratify it at a later date.
