A man from Durham Region has been charged for a hit-and-run in Guelph. The collision was reported to Guelph Police on Oct. 4. The complainant said they were travelling on Clair Road West when they were sideswiped by an SUV changing lanes. Damage to their vehicle was only described as “significant.” The complainant said the driver of the SUV pulled over and the two spoke, but when the complainant said they were calling police the other driver took off. “Investigation revealed the other driver is bound by a driver’s licence suspension as well as a Criminal Code driving prohibition,” a media release said. On Monday, another police service arrested the 45-year-old man. He was charged with careless driving, failing to stop at an accident, driving while prohibited and driving while suspended.
