A 71-year-old Guelph man is facing 10 charges after police say he smashed the front windows of five downtown businesses over several days. Guelph police say officers were called to a business on Quebec Street Wednesday morning after a man was seen striking a large window with an object, causing it to shatter. The man left the area but was found and arrested a short time later. Investigators allege the same man was also responsible for damaging the windows of four other downtown businesses on Sunday. All five businesses were closed when the incidents occurred. The man has been charged with five counts of mischief under $5,000 and five counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
