Guelph Police have arrested a man in connection to a July burglary following a DNA breakthrough. Officers were called to a downtown home July 13 after the resident returned to their home broken into. Some of the victim’s property was reported stolen, with investigators finding a used needle and urine on the floor of their bedroom. Evidence collected at the home were submitted for forensic analysis. Police found a match on the national DNA database in early October. On Monday, a 43-year-old Guelph man was arrested for two counts of breaching probation orders and one count of breaking and entering.
