Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a man who allegedly stole items from a gym locker in Waterloo. They also want to speak to any additional victims. Police responded to an unnamed gym on Weber Street North around 10:10 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of a theft from a change room locker. Officers arrested a man at the scene and recovered stolen property belonging to the victim. Further investigation determined the suspect was connected to an earlier theft at a recreation facility in Waterloo, where personal property was stolen from a locker and a vehicle was entered using keys taken from that locker. A 22-year-old Kitchener man was charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Investigators believe there may be more victims and ask anyone who had property taken from a gym or recreation facility locker to contact investigators at 519-570-9777, ext. 6399. Police also wanted to remind residents to secure their personal belongings with a lock when using public lockers.
