A grandfather from Stratford is celebrating a major lottery win. Vasile Racolta matched all seven ENCORE numbers in the March 14 Lotto Max draw to win $1 million. He said he’s a longtime lottery player, but this is his first big jackpot. “I was at home when I discovered I’d won,” he said while picking up his prize in Toronto. “I remained quiet and calm. When I told my sons the news, they were very happy, but jokingly said, ‘Dad, this isn’t enough!’ We all shared a good laugh.” Racolta plans on buying a home and sharing some of his winnings. The lucky ticket was bought at the Little Short Stop on Saginaw Parkway in Cambridge.
