We may still be preparing for Halloween, but the people behind a popular holiday tradition are already making their list and checking it twice. The schedule has been released for the annual CPKC Holiday Train journeys across the United States and Canada. People planning to visit the Ayr or Cambridge locations might want to brush up on their late 1990s lyrics as Smash Mouth will be performing with JJ Wilde, a rock singer from Kitchener, Ont. According to the schedule posted online, the train is slated to stop at 10 Malcolm Street in Cambridge from 4:15 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 21 and then head to the intersection on Inglis Street and Willison Street in Ayr for 5:30. The tour serves as a fundraiser and food drive for local food banks in each area where the trains stop. Musicians play free concerts from the trains’ decorated stage. Since it started in 1999, the tradition has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for food banks in Canada and the U.S.
