Bank employees in Kitchener were shocked when they opened 40 rolls of what they thought were coins, only to find metal washers. The Waterloo Regional Police Service said a man walked into the bank on Highland Road West and Westmount Road West on Dec. 22 and asked to exchange 40 rolls of toonies for paper bills. Later, when the employees opened the rolls, they discovered they were filled with washers except for a toonie on each end. On Friday, police released photos of a man they want to speak with as part of their investigation.
