The Kitchener Rangers have steadied the ship following a five-game losing streak, beating out the Niagara IceDogs 5-2. The Friday night bout at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium started slow, with Ryerson Edgar scoring the opener on the power play for Niagara 45 seconds before the first intermission. Kitchener, or Cameron Arquette, came out firing in the second frame, scoring twice, once on the power play and once short-handed with nearly 30 seconds left. Ryerson Edgar responded only several ticks of the clock later, finding his second of the game, making the score 2-2 going into the third. A three-goal spree would come for the Rangers, with Jiri Gombar breaking the deadlock before Haeden Ellis and Luca Romano added insurance goals later in the period. The East Avenue Blue will look to turn the win into a streak, with the chance to bring the winning streak to two in Oshawa against the Generals Sunday night at 6:05 p.m.
