A young person is facing multiple charges as part of a child sexual abuse and exploitation material investigation. The Waterloo Regional Police Service launched an investigation in May after receiving a tip from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre about a Kitchener resident. On Thursday, a young person was charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, making child sexual abuse and exploitation material and making child sexual abuse and exploitation material available. The age of the accused person was not published. Charges that include the phrase “child sexual abuse and exploitation material” previously used the term “child pornography.”
