Hockey fans eager to get a look at Canada’s latest American Hockey League team will get their chance in early October. The Hamilton Hammers, the AHL affiliate for the New York Islanders, will open their inaugural season at TD Coliseum on Oct. 9. The team has also confirmed other home games on Oct. 11, Nov. 25, Dec. 12, Jan. 2 and Feb. 15. It’s not clear who the team will be facing during those games, as the full schedule won’t be released until closer to the start of the season. The AHL affiliate team was relocated to Hamilton from Bridgeport, Connecticut.
