Two men are facing a long list of charges as part of an investigation into a parking garage break-in. Waterloo Regional Police Service officers were called to the Chandler Drive area of Kitchener on Sunday around 5 p.m. When they arrived, they found two men in a vehicle and arrested one of them for impaired driving. The other man was also arrested. During the arrests, officers also seized a loaded firearm and suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, and methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA). The men, aged 24 and 20, were both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of a firearm, possession: weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm or device knowing its possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a restricted firearm and possession of a prohibited device. The 24-year-old was also charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drug.
