Many people in southern Ontario were still dealing with power outages on Thursday morning. The outages began as a fast-moving storm blew through the area Wednesday, knocking down trees and cutting off power to hundreds of homes and businesses. As of Thursday morning, crews from Hydro One and Enova were still trying to restore power to customers in Waterloo Region, Guelph and the surrounding areas. “In Enova Power’s service territory, a storm blew through late yesterday afternoon, and strong winds brought down trees and branches onto power lines, causing power outages for more than 6,000 customers in Kitchener, Waterloo, New Hamburg and Woolwich,” a statement from Enova said. “Crews responded quickly, and the majority of customers had power restored by 3:00 a.m. Crews continue to work today to restore power to the remaining customers without power.” Were you impacted by Wednesday’s storm?
