Two landlords who own a building in Brantford are facing a hefty fine due to property standard violations. The city described the pair as “absentee landlords” and said they live in North York. Both own a multi-unit building at 46 Colborne Street. In a news release on Friday, the city said bylaw officers uncovered significant issues at the property including water leaks, water damage, extensive mould and broken windows, as well as walls and ceilings that had been patched with cardboard. “Some of these deficiencies were found within children’s bedrooms, raising serious health and safety concerns,” the news release said. The pair were fined $34,000.
