Alectra Utilities says it has heard some customers were offered the benefits in exchange for sending a large payment by e-transfer to a Gmail address. Alectra says it does not accept payments by e-transfer and would never ask customers to send money to a Gmail address. The utility urged customers to never share personal information or click on text links.
