Ontario Provincial Police say they have recovered stolen construction equipment worth an estimated $1,000,000. Officers searched a home on McLaren Avenue in Brantford on Sept. 9. “The operation was part of a broader effort to address a series of property-related offences under investigation in the region,” OPP said in a media release at the time. Two people were charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of trafficking in property obtained by crime and possession of methamphetamine. On Thursday, OPP shared an update on their investigation. They said officers seized 62 pieces of stolen construction equipment, which included “high-value excavator components such as GPS modules and antennas commonly used in the construction industry.” Those items had an estimated value of $1,000,000. “Police continue to work diligently to identify and return the recovered equipment to its rightful owners,” OPP said in Thursday’s media release.
