NEW YORK - Jay-Z may be many things - a music and fashion mogul, nightclub owner, co-owner of the New Jersey Nets and Beyonce's husband - but more than anything, the entertainer is showing the world he's a proud New Yorker.

The 39-year-old performed to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden Friday night for his "Answer to Call" concert, which paid tribute to the police officers and firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Pledge of Allegiance kicked off the show, and Jay-Z followed with some New York anthems, including "Empire State of Mind," with Alicia Keys.

Others special guests included Beyonce, Kanye West, John Mayer, Diddy, Mary J. Blige and Rihanna, in her first performance since her February altercation with Chris Brown.

The concert aired on Fuse TV.
