MONTREAL - Hockey legend Guy Lafleur is going to take the stand later today at his trial on a charge of giving contradictory testimony.
The retired Montreal Canadiens star will be the only defence witness.
Lafleur is alleged to have given the contradictory evidence during a bail hearing on various criminal charges for his son Mark in 2007.
Lafleur agreed to supervise his son and to ensure he abided by a court-ordered curfew.
But it was later revealed the elder Lafleur had actually driven his son to a hotel so he could spend time with a girlfriend.
Lafleur faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted.
