A Quebec woman frustrated with poor snow removal on her street has taken the matter into her own hands -- she bought her own plow and installed it on her SUV.

The plow cost Dimitra Provias $4,000 but she told CTV Montreal it was well worth the money. City crews had only cleared her narrow Laval street once, and that was back in December.

"We push as much as we can out of the way to help everybody park and to be able to access our crescent," she said.

City crews said they have to skip the street because it's too narrow for their vehicles to pass through.

With snow continuing to fall, the problem has escalated and now even garbage trucks can't get through.

Residents said they have complained to the city but no action has been taken, which have made them even more grateful for Provias and her plow.

"We really appreciate what you do," one neighbour told Provias. "Without you we'd all be stuck."
