OAKVILLE, Ont. - Ford Canada enjoyed a bumper sales month in April.
The automaker says it sold 23,441 vehicles last month, a 24.5 per cent increase over the 18,828 it sold in April 2009.
Ford Canada says it experienced strength across its entire lineup, but that truck sales led the way with a 27.5 per cent increase.
Sales of Ford cars were up 14.4 per cent.
So far this year, Ford sales are 27.7 per cent higher than they were in the January-to-April period of 2009.
Ford was the only one of the so-called Detroit Three to avoid filing for bankruptcy protection and receiving governments bailout money last year.
