After an 11-year break, the hit noughties comedy will return to U.S. TV this fall. The show's ninth season starts Thursday, Sept. 28, the NBC network has announced.

After CBS and CW, NBC is the latest U.S. TV network to reveal its 2017-2018 season schedule. Keenly awaited series this coming year include "Will & Grace," which returns with 12 new episodes featuring the original cast (Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally).

After its 11-year hiatus, the comedy will return to its Thursday night slot, now falling between the second seasons of "The Good Place" and "Great News." "Superstore," now starting its third season, will kick off the Thursday night line-up, concluding with the sixth season of "Chicago Fire."

Another eagerly anticipated series returning to the network is "This is Us," which will start its second season Tuesday, Sept. 26, followed by new show, "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders." This anthology focuses on major legal trials, with the first season exploring the case of the Menendez brothers, who were accused of killing their parents.

NBC's new season begins Monday, September 25, bringing season 13 of "The Voice" and new show "The Brave" about the day-to-day lives of American army personnel. Season 19 of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will screen each Wednesday from Sept. 27, just before the fifth season of "Chicago PD." A fifth season of "The Blacklist" (October 4) and a third season of "Blindspot" (Oct. 27) will join the schedule in October.

New shows "Rise," with Josh Radnor from "How I Met Your Mother," "Good Girls," "Reverie," "A.P. Bio" and "Champions" will follow in 2018, along with season three of "Chicago Med" and follow-ups for "Taken," "Timeless" and "Trial & Error."
