Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and UNHCR Special Envoy, filmmaker and actress Angelina Jolie are among a dozen speakers headlining the acclaimed Women in the World Summit on Monday afternoon.

The summit is being held in Toronto for the first time, and brings together activists, artists, CEOs and what the organization calls "firebrand dissidents" to talk about solutions to global issues affecting women.

Other speakers include gender equality advocate Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland, and Robi Damelin and Bushra Awad -- an Israeli and Palestinian mother, respectively, who lost sons in the Middle East confict and will talk about transforming their tragedies into reconciliation.

The summit will be convened by Tina Brown, founder of The Daily Beast and former editor of the New Yorker and Vanity Fair.
