Justin Bieber dropped in at a Toronto pub on Friday to grab some beers and treat patrons to a little music, in an impromptu appearance that had witnesses beaming about the "sweet" pop star on social media.

Images posted online show Bieber visiting the Fifth Pubhouse in downtown Toronto, alone, where he drank a beer and took in some of the Raptors game on TV. Witnesses say he later pulled up a seat at the pub's piano and started playing, much to the delight of the other patrons at the establishment.

Video posted online shows Bieber singing his hit song "Sorry," "Let It Be" by the Beatles and other tunes.

Bieber's relaxed attitude is a far cry from his behaviour last month, when the pop star clashed with fans while on tour in the United Kingdom. Bieber complained at the time that he wasn't able to engage with fans in the crowd when they shout and scream at him throughout his performance.

But those who saw him at the pub in Toronto on Friday say he was "sweet" and very approachable.

Oliver Geddes, who owns Fifth Pubhouse, said in a statement that Bieber was gracious to staff and customers during his visit.
