Colin Firth is in talks to join the cast of Disney's "Mary Poppins Returns," reports Variety.

The British actor is set to play William Weatherall Wilkins, president of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank, and will join fellow Brit Emily Blunt and "Hamilton" star Lin-Manuel Miranda for the sequel.

Set 25 years after the original, the movie will return to the story of the Banks family, with Michael and Jane Banks (played by Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer) now grown up. However out of the blue their magical nanny (Blunt) pays them an unexpected visit.

Miranda is set to play street lamplighter Jack with Meryl Streep also starring in the movie as Poppins' cousin.

The film will be directed by Rob Marshall.

"Mary Poppins Returns" will be released in theaters on December 25, 2018.
