An Oilers fan has more than three million reasons to say thank you to his favourite team and his mom. Kyle Thibeault won $3,193,627 in the Oilers 50-50 draw from Sunday’s game. It was the first ticket he bought this year - on his mom’s advice. “I bought the ticket and I’m like, ‘Well, mom said I was going to win it,’ so I guess things do come true,” Thibeault said. “You got to listen to your mom.” The good news was waiting on his phone when he woke up in bed at 6 a.m. and checked his email. “When I realized that I won, my whole body tingled,” he said. Thibeault says his mom was not as shocked as he was when he called her to share the news of the jackpot win. “She just (said) with a casual voice that, ‘Well, I told you we’re going to win it.’” Thibeault says the first thing he wants to buy is a yellow Lamborghini, something he has wanted since he was five years old and he never dreamed was possible. As for his prediction for Game 6 when the Edmonton Oilers take on the Los Angeles Kings at Rogers Place on Thursday - Thibeault says the wins will keep coming. “We’re going to win 100 per cent,” he said. “We’re going to stomp on those Kings.” Tickets for the next 50-50 draw can be purchased online.
