It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No… it’s cheaper flights for Edmontonians! The Edmonton International Airport (YEG) has launched YEGplus, a program designed to give rewards to travellers for everyday spending at the airport. “It allows our passengers to create a more affordable travel experience by saving a little bit of money and they’ll be able to accumulate points,” said YEG’s Cindy Barclay. “It allows customers to really enjoy the travel experience and create a better passenger experience.” The airport believes this program comes at a time when travellers are increasingly focused on affordability and will help passengers save money on every trip. Members will earn points for every dollar spent at the airport and redeem them for parking, purchases at participating in-terminal merchants, gift cards and more. The free program features a tiered rewards structure and replaces YEG’s existing email-based rewards programs. Passengers also get the chance to win a $20,000 flight giveaway that’s being offered at the airport as part of the launch. “We are the first airport in Canada to have a loyalty program, which we’re super proud of.
