Edmontonians planning a trip to Montreal can expect new flight options starting this summer. Porter Airlines is becoming the new launch carrier at the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET), said a news release Tuesday morning. The airline will introduce 12 new routes across Canada, including seven flights a week at the Edmonton International Airport (YEG). “The new MET terminal development represents an exceptional private investment in transportation infrastructure that Greater Montreal will benefit from for generations,” said the CEO of Porter Airlines, Michael Deluce. “Porter is bringing a wide range of flight options to the airport, along with a genuine commitment to the community … We are eager to begin this journey with an unprecedented amount of new service,” Other routes expected to start June 15 are Calgary (YYC), Vancouver (YVR), Halifax (YHZ), and more. The new routes from MET to Edmonton take flight June 16. All flights are now available to book online at flyporter.com or through travel agencies.
