The Town of Redwater has temporarily moved its administrative staff after a crash earlier this month exposed asbestos in the town office building. A vehicle drove into the building around 6 p.m. on Sept. 1, according to a statement from the town. No injuries were reported, but the building sustained serious damage. Asbestos in the building also prevented access for staff and residents, according to the statement Initial asbestos abatement was completed on Sunday, and repairs on the building started on Tuesday. Work is expected to take two weeks. Town office staff had been working out of temporary locations since the crash but will be centralized at the Public Works Office (Unit 6) for the remainder of the repairs.
