A red-level tornado warning issued for parts of Alberta’s Clearwater County on Saturday evening was cancelled. Environment Canada issued the alert for Rocky Mountain House, Codner and Ferrier around 6 p.m. It was cancelled at 8:14 p.m. the same night as the organization said all tornadoes associated with the alert were no longer expected. Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a funnel cloud could be seen moving along Highway 11 at RR65, east of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., on Saturday evening from the Alberta 511 traffic cameras. The Northern Tornadoes Project out of London, Ont., confirmed at least one tornado in the area and reports of damage. A team from Olds, Alta., will investigate damage on Sunday. Red-level tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Rocky Mountain House is about 200 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
