An Alberta teacher has pleaded guilty to sex offences involving children. Janelle Arnold pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual interference as well as eight counts of failure to comply with a release order. On Monday she was handed a sentence of six years in prison for the crimes. A charge of making or publishing child sexual abuse materials was withdrawn, as were two other counts of failure to comply with a release order. Charges of sexual assault, sexual contact with a child, and luring a child under 16 were stayed. Arnold was arrested in connection with sex crimes involving children on three separate occasions. Prior to her arrests she was a teacher at Duclos School, a preschool to Grade 4 school in Bonnyville, Alta.
