Here’s what’s happening in the Edmonton area: Sports Ice District continues its summer of soccer on Saturday with a Fan Park watch party for Canada vs. Morocco. Doors open at 10 a.m. Edmonton is welcoming international rugby once more with the World Rugby Nations Cup 2026. Three men’s games, two of which feature Canada, will play at Clarke Stadium. On Saturday, Canada faces off against Spain. The Rugby Canada Fan Fest will take place in the same place the next day and promises an afternoon of sporty activities and games. The city’s basketball team, the Edmonton Stingers, play the Winnipeg Sea Bears on Sunday at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Grindstone Comedy Festival Edmonton’s favourite indie comedy fest is back at the Grindstone Theatre. It officially began on Thursday and will run until July 12. Edmonton International Street Performers Festival Street performers return to Churchill Square on Friday for 10 days of public, roving entertainment. Métis Music and Drag The Chromozone Showcase Room hosts drag popstars Robin Cisek and Pheromone Killz Friday night at 8:30. Tickets are $20 at the door and $15 online.
