An Edmonton river valley park, surrounding trails and a footbridge will be closed on Friday as city crews conduct a controlled burn. The proactive fire at Jan Reimer Park, located on the western shore of the North Saskatchewan River below the Edmonton Country Club, in the city’s southwest are part of the city’s wildfire prevention measures. The nearby Terwillegar Park footbridge and adjacent trails will be closed during the burn, which will be done only if weather conditions allow crews to control the fire and smoke. The burn was originally scheduled for Monday but was postponed because of high winds.
