An Edmonton woman has won $1 million on a Lotto 6/49 ticket from last month. Rhonda Starkell decided to check her ticket from the Sept. 2 draw on a sleepless night. “I went onto WCLC’s website and was checking my numbers and then woke up my partner and said, ‘I think I just won the lottery,’” she said. “I tried to get back to sleep but couldn’t,” she continued. “I was in complete shock.” Starkell said her partner said, “I think you did win,” and then went back to sleep. She plans to pay off her mortgage, buy a new car, and take a trip to Greece and the Netherlands. Starkell bought her ticket at Dolar Drug Mart at 13211 132 St. NW in Edmonton. The winning numbers were 34907137-01.
