The River Cree Resort and Casino is now 20 years old. Fully owned by Enoch Cree Nation, the property has grown exponentially over the last two decades. “We started at 600 machines and today, we have over 1,700 machines and still more to come,” said CEO Vik Mahagan. “We’ve got new buildings, we’ve opened new restaurants, we’re adding a new hotel.” Mahagan says the River Cree’s success can be chalked up to their dedication to always doing better. “Good enough is not good enough. Every time we do something, we strive to do even better, and we don’t stop,” he said. The River Cree has seen hundreds of performers take the stage and most recently opened up the first Hell’s Kitchen in Canada. Mahagan said an Indigenous thermal spa will be coming soon as well as an indoor golf facility slated for the summer. With files from CTV News Edmonton’s Evan Kenny
