The City of Edmonton says residential spring street sweeping will begin on April 20, weather permitting, with a parking ban in place for scheduled neighbourhoods from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Communities will be scheduled for cleaning in one-week increments and a parking ban will only be active when crews are scheduled. Signs will be placed in neighbourhoods at least 24 hours before cleaning begins, and schedules will be posted online. Vehicles parked on the street must be moved during scheduled cleaning or a $250 ticket will be issued per vehicle. Once street cleaning is complete, parking may resume as normal. Residents are asked to remove driveway ramps from curbs when crews are in the neighbourhood. The city’s annual spring sweep clears debris and dust from roadways across Edmonton. Crews are scheduled to begin sweeping major roadways Wednesday. Scheduled sweeps are expected to wrap up June 1.
