The 34th annual Pets in the Park festival welcomed furry friends and their owners to Buena Vista Park on Sunday. “It’s a wonderful day of celebrating the bond that we have between pets and people,” said Edmonton Humane Society’s (EHS) CEO Liza Sunley. The day kicked off with a walk-run that raised money for the EHS. “Events like this are just really critical for us to be able to raise money that we need to be able to provide the services that we do for our community,” said Sunley. The walk-run exceeded the organization’s goal of $34,000. Other activities at the event included a scent maze, Dachshund dash, cat cafe and a dog spa.
