Police are looking for more information about a crash involving an inflatable boat and a Sea-Doo that left one boat passenger with serious injuries. Parkland RCMP got a 911 call from the Jackfish Lake area just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Nobody spoke during the call, Mounties say, but a boat engine could be heard in the background. Investigation revealed that two people in an inflatable boat had been hit by a Sea-Doo travelling at a “high rate of speed.” The crash ejected both boaters into the water and left one with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Sea-Doo operator is described as a man in his mid to late 20s with a fair complexion, stocky build, brown curly or wavy hair and facial hair. Mounties are trying to identify him. Jackfish Lake is approximately 40 kilometres west of the edge of Edmonton as the crow flies.
