Pedestrian hit by Valley Line LRT train

A man was taken to hospital after he was hit by a Valley Line LRT train on Monday.

A pedestrian was hit by an LRT train in Edmonton early Monday morning.

The collision involving the Valley Line train at 83 Street and 78 Avenue happened around 7:30 a.m.

It’s not known how fast the train was going.

The man was hospitalized with minor injuries, according to police.

“The city and TransEd are supporting the Edmonton Police Service as they investigate the incident. We appreciate the assistance of emergency responders,” said city spokesperson Alastair Lillico.

As of 9:30 a.m., Valley Line service was still experiencing minor delays.
