One woman northeast of Edmonton started Wednesday morning with her usual coffee and her less-than-usual $1 million windfall. Patricia Thomas of Fort Saskatchewan won the money after buying a Lotto Max ticket, something she told Lotto Spot she only buys “once in a blue moon.” She said she was overwhelmed and shocked when she scanned her ticket on the app at 6 a.m. “I ran upstairs to tell my daughter and grandchildren,” she said. “There was a lot of excitement in the house.” Thomas said she plans to pay off some bills and buy a house. She purchased her ticket from the Co-op at 10004 99 Ave. in Fork Saskatchewan.
