The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation is starting a new 50/50 raffle that will run until close to the start of next month’s Winter Olympic Games. The Kids in Oil Country Mega 50/50 raffle runs until Feb. 3, the foundation said in a media release Thursday. That day, the Edmonton Oilers are slated to play their final home game before Milano Cortina 2026 in Italy begins. The raffle will support the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, YMCA of Northern Alberta and the foundation’s Every Kid Deserves a Shot initiative, which supports children in need. The organization helps 4,500 children access sports, including soccer, hockey and basketball. “Together, we’re helping children facing serious health challenges and supporting recreation and community programming that benefits all kids,” Corey Smith, the board chair of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, said in the release. The raffle features more than 30 prizes, including several cash prizes, signed merchandise, a suite for 12 and a two-night stay at the Pine Bungalows Chalet from Tourism Jasper.
