Mounties seize large quantities of cocaine, meth, fentanyl in central Alberta bust

Red Deer RCMP began an investigation earlier this month into a drug trafficker believed to be active in central Alberta, resulting in the arrest of a 41-year-old man.

Mounties executed a search warrant on Oct. 10 which led to the seizure of large quantities of drugs including:

• 1.17 kg of cocaine;
• 1.459 kg of methamphetamine; and
• 3.135 kg of fentanyl.

Three loaded firearms and equipment used to manufacture illegal drugs were also seized.

A 41-year-old man with a history of drug trafficking was charged with:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3);
• production of a controlled substance;
• weapons offences (x8);
• failing to comply with release order (x2); and
• possession of counterfeit currency.

The man was remanded into custody and is to appear in court on Oct. 29.
