One man was taken to hospital with “significant” but non-life-threatening injuries on Friday after his motorcycle hit the rear end of a truck stopped at a light in southeast Edmonton. Edmonton police say a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle drove into a 2011 Ford F150 from behind while the truck was stopped in traffic at the intersection of 50 Street and 41 Avenue S.W. just before noon Friday. Police closed 50 Street in both directions between 41 Avenue S.W. and Township Road 510 in all directions for the better part of Friday afternoon after the collision. EMS took the 56-year-old motorcyclist to hospital. The 23-year-old truck driver didn’t report any injuries. The Edmonton police major collisions unit is investigating and says it does not believe alcohol or speed were factors.
